Not every career is a carefully planned path. More often than not, it resembles a series of twists and turns, where new challenges arise unexpectedly and lead us to places we could hardly have imagined before. This is the story of Anna, currently HR Director at Foodcom S.A., who started at the company as a Sales Support employee and today heads the department responsible for the most valuable asset of any organization—its people.

Beginnings in the role of Sales Support

Ania began her journey at Foodcom S.A. as a Sales Support. Her daily routine consisted of documents, orders, and supporting the sales team in administrative tasks. Accuracy and good organization were important in this job—one small mistake could slow down the entire process and affect customer satisfaction.

Thanks to this, she quickly learned to be meticulous, work under time pressure, and organize processes. What seemed like just office routine at the time later turned out to be a great foundation for working in a completely different area.

Ambition instead of clichés

At Foodcom S.A., ambition and motivation are always valued. And that’s what set Ania apart from the very beginning. She approached her duties with commitment, cared about quality, and was open to new tasks.

Right from the start, she showed that she could be relied on and that she was committed to every task. Thanks to this, she was given the opportunity to prove herself in a new area, in the HR department.

First steps in HR

Working in HR proved to be a big challenge. Suddenly, there were completely new tasks—from keeping records and meeting deadlines to taking care of regulations and formalities.

“When I started, I saw that much of what I had learned in Sales Support was really useful. Accuracy, order in documents, attention to detail—it gave me the feeling that I had a solid foundation and wasn’t starting from scratch,” recalls Ania.

She also gradually developed her soft skills: conducting recruitment, onboarding new people, and building relationships with employees.

Challenges that build

Joining a new department was like jumping into the deep end. The pace of work, new procedures, and responsibility for people were overwhelming at first. But Ania treated every task as an opportunity to learn.

“It was an intense time. There were a lot of new responsibilities and it wasn’t always easy, but I quickly saw the results of my work. And that gave me great satisfaction,” she says.

Thanks to her ability to combine an analytical approach with empathy, she gained the trust of both managers and employees.

Current role – HR Director at Foodcom S.A.

Today, Ania manages the entire HR department. She is responsible not only for documents, contracts, and salaries, but also for recruitment, employee development, and creating a good atmosphere in the company.

Her story is a good example of how Foodcom allows you to change your career path. If you show commitment and potential, you have the opportunity to try your hand at new areas, even if you started out in a completely different role.

I never planned to become an HR Director. But I always gave my best and was open to new opportunities. Thanks to this, I found a path that gives me a lot of satisfaction and a feeling that I am in the right place.
